Our History.

Alex and Janda met in early 2017 when Janda joined Royal LePage Team Realty. They quickly became fast friends sharing the same work ethic, values and sense of humour. Over the years they have grown to further appreciate one another’s specific skill sets and professional aspirations. As of February 2023 they made it official and joined forces to build their team. With over twelve years of combined experience their goal is to provide above and beyond service during your real estate experience!

Born and raised in Ottawa, I have spent over 30 years becoming familiar with the greater Ottawa area and the outlying communities. I attended Carleton University initially for International Business, but switched part way through and completed my BA majoring in Law and minoring in Psychology. This trifecta of studies as well as my interest in DIY and renovations has been the primary driver behind my choice to become REALTOR®. After attaining my certification from OREA, I started in October of 2016 at Royal LePage Team Realty. I was with RLP for over 6 years and decided to make the switch to EXP because of their modern take on the business model.

Janda Shamess

I moved to Ottawa from Nova Scotia in 2008 and have spent the greater part of my life in this beautiful city. Once in Ottawa my family was fortunate enough to receive thoughtful, timely, and professional service from an agent who sold our home in Kanata; which inspired me to become a REALTOR®. Once I graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2017 with a BA in Communications and a Minor in Business, I enrolled in the Ontario Real Estate College (OREA) and earned my license in 2018. I began my real estate career with Royal LePage Team Realty where I met Alex. After three years with Royal Lepage I moved to Purple Bricks Realty. This change allowed me to increase my sales volume and in turn provided me a broader range of experience. I recently joined EXP Realty feeling inspired by the brokerage’s modern business framework, allowing me to better serve my clients.
